RJ Says - Speed or Consistency?
After the Anaheim II Supercross, it?s looking like a four man race for the coveted title of 2012 AMA Supercross Series Champion.
With everybody still healthy and strong, this is shaping up to be one of the most competitive years in Supercross ever. Most seasons in the past the title has come down to one or two guys - but right now there is a major the contrast in the consistency of Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey versus the brutal speed of Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart.

DC Moto TF Day with Ryan Morais
Ryan Morais' goal for a 2010 West Coast Lites Supercross championship came to a screeching halt in just the 3rd round of the series, when another racer landed on the back on his bike, sending both riders crashing to the ground. This unfortunate crash would sideline Ryan for a few rounds, but he would eventually return to racing action in Seattle and finish the season 10th overall points. When the AMA Motocross Nationals came into around, Ryan was ready to get back to racing, but going into the second round he was once again out with an injury. Ryan has been busy the past few months, but is back and ready to set some new goals for the upcoming 2011 series. I spoke with Ryan about what he learned over the past year and his prospects for the new season.
Angela: Well Ryan, here we are just a few short weeks until the first Supercross race of the season; let's talk about sponsors and the bike?
Ryan: Yeah, DC Shoes stepped up recently and is sponsoring the entire Rockstar Energy Suzuki Team, so I am really excited to be a part of it. I have only been with this sponsor for a few days now and they're really taken care of the team. I'm with the same team as last year, Rockstar Energy Suzuki, with the same mechanic (Rene Zapata), and the same team manager, and owner, everything is pretty much the same, but Suzuki really is stepping up this year. Last year we were on a 2009 carburetor bike, so we were kind of behind the ball, but this year we are on the new 2011 fuel injected, the whole new chassis and everything, and Suzuki has really helped us out with factory support. Our bikes are pretty much in house bikes, running Shoei Suspension, so everything is looking great. Everyone has been doing a great job and the people at Yoshimura have been doing a lot of testing and getting our bikes dialed in, so I'm excited for Anaheim 1. Our bike should be one of the best ones out there, making things really competitive, and that is very cool.

R4TC: 2010 Ride for the Cure at Cahuilla Motocross Park
I haven't hit the track much in 2010, but knowing that the 4th Annual Motocross Ride for the Cure Event was coming, I dusted off the KTM, dropped it off at Malcolm Motorsports for some fine tuning, hit Milestone Motocross Track for a handful of warm ups and I was ready to enjoy the funnest event of the year hosted by motocross enthusiast herself, Laurie Carey, who is constantly raising the bar for fundraising, support, education and interaction for Breast Cancer Awareness!
The morning started off amazing, perfect day to moto! The sky's were bright blue and littered with dark fluffy rain clouds! Dropping rain in perfect track watering patterns, the day was in full swing and the pits were packed! Tons of Factory support lined up for the event, they even had a never ending Freestyle show in the works! Mike Metzger, the God Father of FMX was doing his thing and dozens of other talented riders busting out tricks for the fans.
I pretty much settled into a pack rat of MXGirls, WMA Pro Rider Elizabeth Bash, Race Techs Michelle Marshall, and Mission Motorsports Brooklyn McClendon. We had a blast mixing it up on the main and vet tracks, sporting our decorated "Ride for the Cure" Bra's and having a blast spinning laps, saving boobies!
In the end I was amazed at the growth this event has accumulated over the years, by far the most impressive outcome I've seen. I'm looking forward to next year's event, but more importantly, it's touching to see all the work Laurie Carey puts into the Support and Awareness of Breast Cancer.

2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series - Indianapolis Preview
Last weekend at the 2012 Daytona Supercross presented by Honda, not one, but two major upsets took place. Well, one actually occurred before the weekend, but it was easily the most significant upset of the two. While the rain that doused the famed Florida circuit certainly made for one very sloppy Supercross race, the mud was not what caused the biggest change in the premier class standings.
On the Friday before the race, a press release went out from KTM Motorsports announcing that Ryan Dungey had broken his collarbone while practicing more than a week earlier. While Dungey had been able to race (and finish second) the previous weekend in St. Louis, he apparently had already been injured and just gritted through the race. Dungey had been second in the points chase, just 13 points behind Ryan Villopoto. By dropping out of the series, James Stewart effectively inherited Dungey?s place in the standings.

Supercross 2011: Kyle Regal discusses move to L & M Racing Yamaha
Moving up from the Lites class to the full time 17 rounds in the premier 450 Supercross class is a big step for any racer. Making it a double whammy, Kyle Regal is also going from Privateer Status to a full Factory Sam Manuel L & M Yamaha ride.
Kyle rode a few 450 Supercross rounds last season, when he wasn?t racing in the Supercross East Coast Lites, but it was this summer Kyle really gained momentum on the 450, finishing ninth in the series final standings.

RJ Says: 100% is Back!
100%? It is how I try to live my life.
In 1982, I got a phone call from a guy I knew at the races. His name was Drew Lien. The conversation went like this:
Drew: I dig your bull dog style and never give up attitude. I'm starting a company and would love to sponsor you. I can't pay you right now, but I will give you all the free product you can have.
Me: Whats it called?
Drew: 100%
Me: What will you sell?
Drew: Heat shields and numbers.
Me: I'm in...
A few months later, all the top racers ran 100%: Bailey, O'mara, Ward, Glover, Lechien, Kehoe, Holley, and the list goes on.
From that point on 100% has been my life motto. I am giving 100% in whatever I do. Truck racing, coaching, working or loving my family. Win or lose. Happy or sad.
If I am giving 100%, I can go to sleep KNOWING I have done my best.
Drew has past, but his dream lives on. He was a special person with a big dream. God Speed my friend.
HOW MUCH EFFORT DO YOU GIVE?

2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series - Toronto Preview
When the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series kicked off, expectations were high ? very high. After all, the 2011 series was one of the most exciting and variable seasons of premier class racing in the history of the sport, with multiple winners and points lead changes. The championship even came down to a three-way battle in the very last race.
So for 2012, most were hoping for somewhat of a repeat, and for a while it seemed that the likes of Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart, Ryan Dungey, Chad Reed, and Trey Canard might deliver the goods again. But then Canard got hurt in Los Angeles. Okay, not too much of a blow there, but Trey could very well have been a contender, having won three races in 2011. Other than that, for the first four races things were looking up, with four different winners in four rounds. Not bad.
Then along came the East Coast rounds and the main contenders began dropping like flies. First Reed went down in a violent crash during the Dallas main event. The ensuing injury may keep him off the bike for the remainder of the year (which is likely the reason that earlier this week TwoTwo Motorsports announced the signing of Ben Townley to compete in the 2012 AMA Pro Nationals).
Then a press release following the St. Louis round revealed that second in points, Dungey, had fractured his collarbone and undergone surgery in the week leading up to Daytona. Whether he returns to racing before the end of the indoor series or not, Dungey is basically out of the title hunt.
Then last week in Indianapolis, Stewart had his own blunder, falling just after the first turn of his heat race and getting run over by about four other riders. Not many details have been released as to his current condition, but he did not return to racing that night. No word yet on whether fans will be seeing him in action up in Canada.
